How to play

What’s the goal of a match?

Matches are played in rounds. Wipe out the other squad to win the round; first to 2, 3 or 5 round wins (you choose) takes the match. Each round starts with a short plan phase and lasts up to 2:30. If time runs out, the side with more operators standing wins, then the side with more total health.

Pick a mode on the main menu — 1v1 Duel, 3v3 Fireteam or 6v6 Squad — choose your faction and map, then tap DEPLOY.

What are the iPhone touch controls?

Hold your iPhone sideways (landscape). Touch the left side of the screen to get a move stick, and drag on the right side to look around. Push the stick far forward to sprint.

HOLD REVIVEappears next to a downed teammate
ATVappears near a quad: get on / off
IIpause (top-left)

The order buttons along the top send your squad commands: 1 Follow, 2 Hold, 3 Advance/Flank, 4 Regroup, 5 Revive, 6 Drive ATV. Use T to choose one squadmate or ALL.

How do revives work?

In 3v3 and 6v6, an operator at 0 HP is downed: they can crawl, and they bleed out after 20 seconds. Stand next to a downed teammate and hold REVIVE for 3 seconds (faster with a Medkit equipped). Taking damage interrupts the revive. 1v1 Duels have no revives — 0 HP means you’re out for the round.

How do I quit a match?

Tap the II pause button in the top-left corner, then tap QUIT TO MENU. Tap RESUME to keep playing instead. After a match ends, use MENU on the results screen (or REMATCH to play again).

In an online match, quitting removes you from the room and a bot takes over your operator so the match can continue for everyone else.

The game feels slow or my phone gets warm.

On the main menu, set graphics quality to Low or Med. Rain, sleet and snow add particle effects, so Clear Day is the lightest weather. Closing other apps can also help.

Purchases

How do I restore my purchases?

If you reinstall Stormline or move to a new iPhone, your purchases are tied to your Apple Account and can be restored for free:

  1. Make sure you’re signed in to the App Store with the same Apple Account you used to buy.
  2. Open Stormline and tap STORE (Quartermaster) on the main menu.
  3. Tap Restore Purchases in the top bar.

The app also re-checks your purchases with Apple each time it starts. Tokens you earned by playing are saved on the device and are not restored.

I bought something but it didn’t unlock.

Check your internet connection, then close and reopen the app — it re-checks purchases at launch. If it still hasn’t appeared, tap Restore Purchases in the store. If that doesn’t work, email me with the item name and the date of purchase (please don’t send card details).

How do I get a refund?

All payments are handled by Apple, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Do purchases change gameplay?

Outfits, skins, tracers, emotes and factions are cosmetic only — they have no stats. Gun upgrades (Mk II and Mk III) are clearly labelled as upgrades that change that gun’s stats. Base guns are free. There are no loot boxes or random rewards.

Online play

How do I play online with friends?

Tap ONLINE on the main menu. Type a call sign and a room code, choose the mode, then tap CONNECT & JOIN. Friends who type the same room code join the same room. When everyone is in, tap START MATCH. Bots fill any empty slots.

I can’t connect, or it says “Not connected”.
The match is laggy or players jump around.

The server decides every hit, so a weak connection can cause stutter. Move closer to your Wi-Fi router or switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data. If you drop out, a bot takes your place so the match can continue.

Who decides if a shot hits online?

The game server. It checks every hit, down, revive and ATV seat for all players, which keeps matches fair.
